The Owner
Rebecca Martin transformed a life long love for good food and baking into
a reality when she opened Sweet on You inside the Stamford JCC in July
2006. Hidden away in the JCC without a street sign, Sweet on You has gone
from being Stamford's best kept secret to a hit throughout Connecticut
and Westchester. Rebecca has appeared on the Martha Stewart Show making
her rugelach pinwheel recipe with Martha Stewart, on ABC News for the
tri-state area where her chocolate peanut butter mousse tart was featured,
and in newspapers and blogs.
The Bakery
We make custom cakes from the best ingredients - Valhrona chocolate, European
butter with 83% butterfat, the finest cake flour and sugars, pure vanilla,
real nuts and fruit not flavorings. We love a challenge: we've made cakes
in the shape of a standing horse, a fantasy tree house, shoes, dogs, seals,
figures, people and works of art using. We make wedding cakes, grooms
cakes, bar and bat mitzvah cakes, wedding shower cakes, baby shower cakes,
communion cakes and of course birthday cakes. We also make cupcakes and
cupcake cakes for all occasions. We work with our customers to design
their ideal cake, and offer complimentary wedding cake tastings for up
to four people. We deliver wedding cakes to Connecticut, Massachussets,
New York and New Jersey. Our cakes are kosher certified by the Vaad of
Fairfield County.
Events
Food is our passion and design is our love. We recently won 2009 Best
of Stamford Caterers. We have made parties from food to flowers and service
for Shimon Peres, Salaman Rushdie, Amos Oz, the Israeli General Counsel
to the U.N. and other luminaries, as well as our neighbors and friends.
We plan and serve the food, help you select linens and dining ware, design
the room, recommend floral designers and entertainment for weddings, bar/bat
mitzvahs, cocktail parties, brises, baby namings, shivas, funerals, birthdays
and corporate events. We do not work from a set menu. Each event is custom
designed from your menu, to décor and entertainment. We are approved at
such established venues as at the Inn at Longshore in Westport, (300 guests),
The Stamford Museum and Nature Center (100-150 guests), The Italian Center,
Temple Sholom in Greenwich (400), Congregation Agudath Sholom (400), Temple
Sinai, Temple Beth El in Stamford and more. Our food is kosher certified
by the Vaad of Fairfield County.
Sweet on You Café
Sweet on You Café is a casual dairy kosher dining experience for families
and people of all ages located in Stamford, inside the Jewish Community
Center. We make our food from scratch, and pride ourselves on offering
healthy meals with many vegetarian and vegan options. Our pizza recently
tied for 5th place in a reader's poll conducted by the Stamford Advocate.
We also offer salads, sandwiches, entrees, soup, smoothies, cookies, muffins
and bagels. We deliver anywhere in Stamford and Greenwich, and you can
